Working on a Saturday

Yesterday was Saturday, but it was workday for most people. Since there is nine holidays in a row this Lunar New Year, we have to bear the sadness to work on Saturday (1/17).

That day at a meeting, our vice president announced and explained the new policy to all of us. It seemed that property insurance companies need to work harder to earn the decreasing revenues and profits, mainly for the authorities ask the industry to follow new rules “Free Fares”. It is not free at all, for we must follow the pricing rules set by the authorities first. However, it looks quite good for consumers at least in the short run, for the insurance price will decrease due to new rules.

After the meeting, we had a gathering at Brothers Hotel. It was fun to hear my coworkers’ jokes and laugh at their toasting at each other. However, deeply I feel that I did not, do not, and will not belong to the group completely. There seemed to be a little gap between us. Anyway, they are all nice and agreeable people.
